The Tyee Yacht Club  also known as The Yacht Club on Lake Union was the scene of the wedding ceremony and reception of Judah Stevenson and Sarah Hess.   Sarah and Judah are such a creative, thoughtful and beautiful couple. The wedding was great. So too was the fabulous food provided by Ravishing Radish Catering. in fact The Yacht Club on Lake Union is the home of Ravishing Radish Catering so that was not a surprise. Sarah and Judah made their getaway as their friends and family looked on at the end of their wedding reception cruising to the The Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland via the “Seneca” a 38 foot, 1958 Chris Craft. Below are some of the highlights of their wedding.  Tova Emry and Jaime Zaret had their wedding ceremony inside the Willows Lodge and just after the end of the ceremony, everyone headed outside where it was clear and cool but not raining for a wedding panorama group portrait. Tova and Jaime and their family and friends look so good together in this picture. The weather was splendid and the light was grand and The Golf Club at Newcastle has a great white tent where wedding ceremonies take place.  Namita Singh and Gauhar Junnarkar were married in a traditional Indian Hindu wedding ceremony there and afterwards we went outside with all of the family members for a wedding panorama with the western sky in the background. The towers of the city of Seattle kind of look like a castle in the distance give it a certain look that makes it this is one of my favorite panoramas. Tegan Wallace and Chad Lindhorst and all of ther people attending their wedding at the Washington Park Arboretum Meadow in October. Afterwards everyone headed over to Blue Ribbon Cooking, for the reception. It was a great day and it did not rain until well after the reception was underway which was a good thing because they did not have a backup plan for the ceremony at the Arboretum. DeLILLE CELLARS   is one of my favorite place for an outdoor wedding and one of the reasons is the above pond which reflects very nicely when people stand alongside it.  Ann Krembs and Mark Casey had a DeLille Cellars Wedding, in Woodenville last summer.  This is what we did right after Ann and Mark’s wedding ceremony. Other features of the grounds there are the sheep grazing in the field behind the people above.

Leigh Anne Freeman was in a bar one day with some friends and they discussing whether she should cut her Fauxhawk. They could not agree so she decided to ask a stranger and she went up to the bar. The stranger she picked out from among the people at the bar happened to be Lindsey McKeen. Leigh Anne & Lindsey have been in a conversation ever since. In the middle of September they got married at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral on Capital Hill.  Both of their families and many of their friends were  in attendance on a wonderful clear September day as the summer continued to hold on. After the ceremony we made some pictures at the Cathedral and then headed downtown to the  Mayflower Park Hotel for the reception. What a wonderful celebration of their wedding. They had a room, actually a suite, upstairs that Leigh Anne negotiated with the hotel management when they booked the venue. Here a some of my favorite highlights from a wonderful wedding on a beautiful day.

Christina and Jim were married in August at the Seattle Art Museum’s Olympic Sculpture Park. They had a calm about them that I noticed the first day we met. It was very apparent on meeting them that they are very much in love. They acted like they know exactly what they want and were planning their wedding exactly like they wanted it. One of the most important was the they and all of their guest have fun. And on their day there was no frenzy or worries. Everything went off as planned without a hitch. Here are some of the highlights of their wedding day at the Olympic Sculpture Park, a great Seattle outdoor venue.

Christina and Jim on the terrace of the PACCAR Pavilion just before we went in the Sculpture Park for some photographs. The chairs were being set up on the lowest level of the Bill and Melinda Gates Amphitheater in the background where the ceremony was to take place. It was kind of touch and go as many weekends this past summer were, between being a fine day for an outdoor wedding and having plan “B” polished off and ready to go at a moments notice.  Plan “B” at the Olympic Sculpture Park is not so shabby since the PACCAR Pavilion is filled with light from the floor to ceiling windows and I believe even on a rainy day it would be a fine space for a wedding. As it came to pass, the major storm system traversed to the north of the city as we watched the dark clouds pass by and not a drop of rain fell on their Sculpture Park wedding.

Late in the evening of their wedding on August 8th, Christina and Jim take a breather to cool off at the Seattle Art Museum’s Olympic Sculpture Park. The red sculpture off in the distance is Alexander Calder’s “Eagle,” a 39-foot-tall sculpture from 1974 in bright red painted steel.  A large ship cruises by on the calm waters of Puget Sound off behind them.

Jamie and Kevin  were married aboard the historic ferry MV Skansonia  and it turned out to a glorious evening. After threatening a shower in the late afternoon, the sun burst through just Keven got set to walk down the aisle on the stern of the old ferry. It was the start of a wonderful wedding celebration. Kevin and Jamie headed out for their honeymoon afterwards sailing up to and through the San Juan Islands.

Susan Stowers and Bob Markey were married on August 21st at the  Farm Kitchen, an 18-acre organic farm near Poulsbo is a great outdoor location for a wedding. We made this wedding portrait just steps away from where they said their vows.
